Here at Holme Tree we are creating beautiful pieces of furniture on a daily basis and we take great pride in the work we produce. Periodically, we ask our local photographer Peter to visit our clients and take some ‘official’ photographs that we can use for marketing purposes. We are always incredibly grateful to our customers who enable us to take photos once their rooms are finished. When Peter returned this file of photographs to us we were blown away by how amazing the space looks. It is a testament to the team work that happens every day of the week here at Holme Tree.
It is easy to forget when you see the finished product the time and attention to detail that goes into every project. From very early on in the design stages Trevor worked with our clients to transform their vision into, initially, a computer-generated design. This is both a creative and practical process – what will look beautiful but also be completely functional for a busy family? The meticulous planning between Holme Tree and the clients, their builders and other trades over a period of months ensured a smooth operation when it came to the manufacture and installation.
The kitchen was designed to be the centrepiece of this family home and the room flows beautifully through to a living and dining area. Having removed several walls, the owners of this house have created a large, light- filled, multi-purpose space. To make the most of this new-found space the clients were very clear about creating a kitchen with a timeless elegance but with the latest appliances to ensure that this is also a very modern kitchen.
Traditional cabinetry provides the backdrop to a wide range of Miele appliances including Contourline oven, microwave and large warming drawer. The choice of Miele appliances continues when it comes to cooking too with an induction hob and built in extractor with a rather clever remote motor meaning that the extractor is much quieter when operating as the motor is located outside. There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh coffee and a Miele coffee machine means that a cup of freshly brewed coffee is never far away! For cooling and dishwashing, Fisher and Paykel appliances were an impressive choice with the large fridge freezer taking pride of place in the centre of the tall cabinets and the dishwasher sitting unobtrusively beside the Villeroy and Boch Farmhouse sink.
Often the danger with large open plan spaces can be the loss of a focal point or a feeling of the room being empty. This is certainly not the case in this room with the impressive mantel with over-shelf, curves and corbels creating a striking surround to the induction hob.
Talking of centrepieces, the large central island painted in Farrow and Ball Tanner’s Brown is a spectacular contrast to the paler units which are finished in Farrow and Ball Elephant’s Breath. The inverse colours on the worktops and the cabinets create a unity between the colour palette with Caesarstone’s Dreamy Marfil chosen for the island and Caesarstone’s Woodlands completing the look on the surrounding units. The clients’ choice of three large glass lanterns occupy the area above the island beautifully and create ambient lighting for a very social space.
As is often the case, many of the practical features that help with the day to day running of the kitchen are conveniently hidden away but are nonetheless significant. An Insinkerator waste disposal in the sink makes light work of food waste while several pull out mechanisms by Kessebohmer help to make the most of the available space in the cabinets. In addition to the modern internal features there are of course the wooden dove-tailed oak drawer boxes which are hidden away but which always give that sense of luxurious quality whenever they are opened.
No kitchen is complete without those essential finishing touches of course – whether it is the Perrin & Rowe Alsace tap or the Perrin & Rowe Aquitaine boiling tap or the classically understated knobs and cup handles; all these individual features combine together to create the overall look. As you look at the workmanship and attention to detail that has been orchestrated in this one kitchen perhaps you can begin to see why we are so proud of what we do here at Holme Tree.
